078: On The SASI Method, Part Three (Speaker)
For the next few weeks, we're talking about the SASI Method.
SASI = SPACE, AUDIENCE, SPEAKER and IDEA.
These four elements are essential in preparing for a talk. And today's topic is about SPEAKER.
So here's the thing -
Over the last several years there's been more focus given to AUDIENCE - and less to us as speakers. This is, on the whole, a good thing. If an audience senses that you are in it for YOU - where your ego is at play more than is helpful - they run for the hills, and with good reason.
BUT - But. But.
We are the speaker. Our body. Our voice. Our story. It is us up there. So, have you spent the kind of time and energy thinking about what it is that you are bringing on stage with you?
Listen to this episode to hear some of the really important questions to be thinking through to ensure that you are on target with the SPEAKER that joins you for your own talk.
